Professor Dimitrios G. Goulis completed his basic medical training (MD) and received his PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Having a scholarship from the European Union, he worked for four years (1996 – 2000) as a clinical research fellow at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK, acquiring the specialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. During his training in Great Britain, he was involved in the fields of Metabolism, Reproductive Endocrinology, and pregnancy complications. Since 2004 is a lecturer, since 2009 assistant professor (non-tenure), since 2013 assistant professor (tenure), since 2015 associate professor, and since 2019 full professor in Reproductive Endocrinology, serving at the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He is currently or had been, among others: President, European Menopause and Andropause Society (2021 – 2023); President, Hellenic Society of Andrology (2013 – 2017); Vice-President, European Menopause and Andropause Society (2019 – 2021); Treasurer, International Society of Andrology (2020 – 2025); Secretary-General, European Academy of Andrology (2014 – 2018); Secretary-General, European Menopause and Andropause Society (2017 – 2019); Training centre Director, European Academy of Andrology (2013 – today); Director, MSc in “Research Methodology in Medicine and Health Sciences”, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2018 – 2022);  Co-chair, Guidelines Committee, European Academy of Andrology (2017 – 2021);  Member of the Executive Board, Hellenic Society of Endocrinology  (2011 – 2013); Member of the Executive Board, Hellenic Society of Climacteric and Menopause (2013 – today); Deputy Director, MSc in “Medical Research Methodology”, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2016 – today); Deputy Director, MSc in “Human Reproduction” (2020 – today), Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2018 – 2022);  Associate Editor, Human Reproduction (2009 – 2013); Associate EditorHormones (2010 – 2021); Associate Editor, Human Reproduction Open (2017 – 2020); Associate Editor, Human Andrology (2017 – 2021); Μember of the Editorial Board, Andrology (2012 – 2021); Μember of the Editorial Board, Journal of Endocrinological Investigation (2014 – 2021); Member of the Editorial BoardCurrent Opinion in Endocrine and Metabolic Research (2018 – 2020); Μember of the Editorial Board, Maturitas (2015 – 2021).

Professor Goulis has published more than 370 full papers in peer-review international journals. His main research interests include male reproductive endocrinology, female reproductive endocrinology, endocrine and metabolic pregnancy complications, menopausal transitionevidence-based medicine, and research methodology.
