Dimitrios G. Goulis

Professor Dimitrios G. Goulis completed his basic medical training (MD) and received his PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Having a scholarship from the European Union, he worked for four years (1996-2000) as a clinical research fellow at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK, acquiring the specialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Following service in all academic hierarchy grades, he has been a full professor (tenure) in the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2019. He is currently serving or has served in many posts in International, European, and Hellenic scientific societies, among which President – European Menopause and Andropause Society (2021 – 2023), Treasurer – International Society of Andrology (2020 – 2025), Secretary-General – European Academy of Andrology (2014 – 2018), Vice-President – Hellenic Endocrine Society – Panhellenic Union of Endocrinologists (2024 – 2026), Training Center Director – European Academy of Andrology (2013 – today), Director – MSc in “Research Methodology in Medicine and Health Sciences” of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2018 – 2023), and Guidelines Committee Co-chair – European Academy of Andrology (2017 – today).

Professor Goulis has published more than 400 full papers in peer-review international journals. His main research interests include Reproductive Endocrinology in males and females, endocrine and metabolic pregnancy complications, menopause transition, evidence-based medicine, and research methodology.
